Copyright & IP Complaints

Last updated: July 9, 2026
Release Registry hosts pages and media created by our users. If you believe content on Release Registry infringes your copyright, trademark, or other rights — or that someone has created a page impersonating you or an artist, label, or company you represent — you can report it and we will review it.

How to Report

Submit a notice through our contact form at releaseregistry.com/contact and choose the “Copyright / Abuse / Report a Page” topic. You can also reach the same form using the Report this page link shown on public Artist, Label, and ReleaseLink pages, or write to us at the postal address at the bottom of this page.

What Your Notice Should Include

So we can act quickly and fairly, please include:

  • Your name and contact information (email, and a mailing address if you have one).
  • Identification of the work or right you are asserting (for example, the song, recording, image, logo, or name).
  • The specific URL(s) of the page or material on Release Registry you are reporting.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act on the rights holder’s behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

What Happens Next

We remove or disable material that is the subject of a valid notice, and we may remove, hide, suspend, disable, or restrict access to content or accounts that we believe in good faith infringe rights, violate our Terms of Service or applicable law, or are the subject of a credible complaint. We may notify the account holder of the complaint and the action taken.

Repeat Infringers

We suspend or terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe, or who are the subject of repeated credible complaints, at our discretion and in appropriate circumstances.

Misuse of This Process

Submitting a knowingly false or bad-faith complaint may itself carry legal consequences, and may result in action against your account. Please only report content you have a genuine, good-faith basis to believe is infringing or unauthorized.
