Release Registry is a music catalog management tool. It provides a structured system for independent artists, managers, and labels to organize release data, metadata, credits, platform links, and related information in one place.
Release Registry is not a music distributor. We do not distribute your music to streaming platforms. We do not collect or administer royalties. We do not represent you to publishers, labels, or performing rights organizations. We are a catalog tool — the organized record of your music and its associated data.
Release Registry does not administer royalties, register copyrights, file with performing rights organizations, or act in any legal or financial capacity on your behalf. Nothing on the platform constitutes legal, financial, or publishing advice.
You own everything you enter into Release Registry. We claim no rights over your music, lyrics, metadata, artwork, or catalog information.
By using Release Registry you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and transmit your data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. This license ends when you delete your account.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to enter the data you provide — including credits, ownership split data (collaboration percentages between songwriters, producers, and rights holders), and publishing information.
Label HQ is a subscription tier designed for independent labels, management companies, booking agencies, publishers, and collectives. By using a Label HQ account, you represent that you have the authority to manage the artist profiles, releases, and associated data entered under your label roster.
Label HQ accounts may designate an entity type (Label, Management, Agency, Publisher, Collective) and manage a public Label Page at rrdb.page/hq/{username}. The label owner is responsible for the accuracy of all data displayed on the label page and for having appropriate rights to represent the artists on their roster.
Artists managed under a Label HQ account may have their name, photo, genre, and release data displayed on the label's public page. The label owner controls which artists appear on the public page via the Label Page Editor.
Account owners may invite team members with assigned roles (Editor, Reader, Artist). Editors can create and modify content. Readers have view-only access. Artist-scoped roles are limited to a specific artist profile. The account owner is responsible for managing team access and revoking access when appropriate.
Invitations are sent by email. Accepting an invitation by registering an account constitutes agreement to these Terms of Service.
Artist Pages (rrdb.page/{username}), Label Pages (rrdb.page/hq/{username}), and ReleaseLink pages (rrdb.link/{artist}/{release}) are private by default. If you choose to make them public or unlisted, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information displayed. Release Registry is not liable for claims arising from inaccurate public catalog information.
Embeddable pages: Public and unlisted pages may be embedded in external websites via iframe. By making a page public, you consent to it being embeddable.
Release Registry generates structured data markup (Schema.org JSON-LD) based on the information you provide. This markup is provided as best-effort based on Schema.org specifications and current search engine guidelines. We make no guarantee of specific search engine results, Google Knowledge Panel appearances, or any other outcome resulting from schema markup. Schema results depend entirely on search engine algorithms outside our control.
Always verify your schema output using Google's Rich Results Test tool.
Some pages on Release Registry, including our Industry Directory and other resource pages, contain links to third-party services. These links may include referral, affiliate, tracking, or discount codes.
Tracking codes attribute the referral back to Release Registry so the linked service knows the visit originated from us, even when no monetary compensation is involved. Where a code does generate compensation for Release Registry (such as a commission, gift card, or account credit) when you sign up or subscribe through it, that compensation does not affect the cost of the service to you. Some codes pass a benefit directly to you, such as a discount, extended free trial, or bonus credit, when you sign up through our link.
Inclusion of a third-party service on Release Registry is not an endorsement. We list platforms that are in active use across the music industry so users can make informed decisions about which tools fit their needs. We do not guarantee the quality, availability, performance, pricing, or terms of any linked service. Those are governed by the service’s own terms and policies. Any disputes regarding a third-party service must be resolved with that service directly.
Release Registry allows you to store privately held business information including Team Contacts and ownership split data (collaboration percentages between songwriters, producers, and rights holders). This data is treated as confidential and is never made public, sold, or shared. However, you are responsible for the accuracy of financial data you enter. Release Registry is a storage and organization tool — we are not a legal or financial advisor and nothing in the platform constitutes legal or financial advice.
Types of data you may optionally store include: mechanical royalty ownership splits, performance royalty splits, master recording ownership percentages, publishing splits, and sync licensing fee records. Release Registry is a record-keeping tool for this information only. We do not collect, administer, pay out, or have any role in the actual distribution of any royalties or fees. For royalty administration contact your performing rights organization (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC), your distributor, or a music attorney.
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected at signup. Your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period — you will not be charged again but will retain full access until the period ends.
We do not issue prorated refunds for unused time within a billing period. Refund requests for exceptional circumstances are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact releaseregistry.com/contact within 7 days of a charge.
Free trial periods provide full Pro HQ access for 3 days from account creation. After the trial ends your account moves to the Free plan automatically. No payment method is required for the trial.
Free: 1 artist, 5 releases per artist. No public pages.
Pro HQ: 2 artists, 50 releases per artist. Full access to Artist Pages, ReleaseLinks, Schema Editor, and Designer.
Label HQ: Tiered artist slots (5, 10, 15, or 20 artists depending on the plan you select). Unlimited releases per artist. Full access to all features plus Label Page, roster management, curated video selection, distribution partner tracking, and press/recognition management.
If you downgrade from a paid plan, artists and releases beyond the free limits remain in your account but become inaccessible until you upgrade. Your data is not deleted — it is preserved and immediately accessible again upon upgrading.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for any activity that happens under your account. Anyone who signs in with your credentials is treated as you. If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, change your password and get in touch immediately.
Release Registry is not liable for losses resulting from compromised passwords, shared credentials, unauthorized access caused by your own device or email being compromised, or third-party services you choose to connect to your account.
We offer tools to help you protect your account, including optional two-factor authentication and email notifications when a new sign-in is detected from an unfamiliar device or location. We strongly recommend enabling both.
We will never ask for your password by email or phone. If someone claiming to be from Release Registry asks you to share your password, it is not us.
You may use Release Registry only for lawful purposes. You may not:
Release Registry is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Release Registry and its owner are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or business interruption.
We recommend maintaining your own backups of critical catalog information. While we take data protection seriously, no cloud service guarantees zero data loss.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Release Registry will be resolved in the courts of Georgia.
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
